Small and Highly Effective
There have been more Monarch 1110 labels used around the world in the past 40 years than another other type of pricing gun stickers. The gun itself was designed in 1972. Because of the age of the design, it's extremely important that quality Monarch 1110 labels are used. The 1110 has an intricate way of feeding the labels and backing paper through and if knock off labels are used, we've seen countless examples of problems. Other companies are selling rolls of labels that have lower quality label paper, adhesive, backing paper material and cheap, plastic inner cores. Check out the About Us page to see a backing paper example. Adhesive can be gooey or non-tacky with third party supplies and should that occur, runny glue can gum up the tool. Gun jamming is an extremely frustrating thing to have happen an often times users will purchase a brand new gun when the only change necessary was using genuine Monarch 1110 labels.

Label Storage Tips
Proper storage is very important to ensure your inventory investment will continue to have a long shelf life and be fully operational. It is recommended to keep your labels in a cool, dry area. A phrase we often say is “So long as they are at room temperature or below, everything should be fine.” Some more detailed specifics would be to keep the inventory at 72 degrees Fahrenheit to around 45 degrees Fahrenheit on the low end. The humidity level should be 30% or below.
It would a poor choice to leave the Monarch 1110 label pack near a heat source as the adhesive can start to run. When that happens, glue will ooze outward on to the edges of the roll. When it cools and dries, the strip will not unroll or release properly for reliable advancement in the labeler, effectively ruining the rolls.
Common storage places such as on a shelf, in a drawer, or on a table top are excellent choices. Many times Monarch 1110 labels (especially full cases) are left in the outer case box and placed on the floor. This is also fine as most times the floor is cool. However, do be aware of any excess moisture. Should the standard paper material labels get wet, they will be effectively useless. The paper will absorb the moisture and deteriorate.
